Calls Lil Wayne a “Whore”
During an interview with Hot 97’s Funkmaster Flex on Thursday night (July 19), 50 Cent made it clear that he will not be moving the September 11 release date for his new album Curtis, “under any circumstances.” Although Def Jam has not made an official announcement, sources within the label have confirmed to XXLMag.com that the street date for Kanye West’s new LP, Graduation, has been bumped to September 11, ensuring an all out battle for the top of the charts that week. When Flex mentioned Kanye’s new date to 50, the G-Unit head was adamant that the release schedule for Curtis would not be changing. “I hope they see and understand what’s getting ready to happen,” he said. “I’m not moving, I’m coming September 11, and if Kanye come that day, then he come that day. I mean that would be great if he actually stayed in that date. I think his people are smart, and I think he’s smart too, and I think they’ll move. But I’m coming September 11.” 50 went on to say that he doesn’t believe that Def Jam president Jay-Z will allow Kanye to drop on the same day as himself.
Later on during the interview, the topic of Lil Wayne came up. True to form, 50 did not bite his tounge when speaking of the self proclaimed Best Rapper Alive and his seemingly endless string of guest appearances as of late. “A whore sleeps with whoever will pay ‘em. So we gotta call him a whore,” 50 said. “If he’ll just go with whoever pay him to be on their records.” But when Flex asked whether Wayne’s ubiquity has caused him to lose respect for the Cash Money frontman, he said that wasn’t the case. “He makes those records good. It’s just that he works with anybody. You gotta kinda make it an event.”
