Not only will 50 Cent's new album "Before I Self Destruct" include a movie of the same name but 50 recently told MTV that will be adding a documentary called "Two Turntables and a Microphone" which centers on the life, legacy and untimely death of Run-DMC's Jam Master Jay. [watch here]
The new documentary is produced by Jam Master Jay's cousin, Stephon "Phonz" Watford and 50 Cent recently bought in as an executive producer. "He was somebody who impacted my career — you can say in the biggest way," 50 remembered. " 'Cause in my career, I was just in the infant stages, developing my song structure around Jay. The first time I was in the studio, [it was] with intentions of recording songs for an album with Jam Master Jay. He taught me how to count bars. I could rap already. I knew what I wanted to say, but he was showing me how I had to get it out around the right time. [He would say,] 'That sounds crazy, you have to say it earlier in this verse.' " [watch here]
