nah actually, this dude isn't bad at rapping. His album wasn't bad, if he wrote it, but his voice is fucking annoying and should be used in jails to annoy prisoners. That "HEAR WE GO NOW" shit gets on my nerves and he sounds like Oscar the Fuckin Grouch.

Yeah I agree, no doubt about that lol.

I think "Curious" with the singer Joe was dope as well, along with "I Know You Don't Love Me."

So Seductive was cool and I liked it, but it was extremely pussy for Yayo to do that (type of) track, right after JUST coming out of jail. Think about it. And he thinks he's hard (as fuck) and he comes up with this song. Just think it's going against your image and what you are. I know it was a first single to promote the album but it was weird, that it's right after he gets let out. I'm cool with it though, I'm just sayin.

1. Curious is a song dedicated to a girl or girls getting out of bad relationships, and Yayo and Joe talking about how she could have him, a good nigga instead. Basically what it is.

2. I Know You Don't Love Me has 50 on the hook talkin about the chick aint the same when other rappers or performers are around, so she's a fraud basically. It features Buck on the second verse and is a catchy, cool song.

I think Yayo is creative. He has good concepts. But his execution is fucking terrible because he's whack as fuck. For example take that poke your man line. That was an ok concept of taking words and making them into another word, but he sucks. Jay did it MUCH better.

IF he was going to bite, why would he bite famous people's lines from well known songs? So he's LAZY then. I love music from a lot of rappers, but you don't see me biting or taking well known emcees lines, and say I'm just paying homage. That's NOT paying homage. I'm not trying to argue or disagree blatantly here with you James, but I think Jay-Z is fraudulent, lazy piece of sh*t. Tupac didn't EVEN LIKE HIM. They had beef and dissed each other on numerous records, mostly cause Jay was (rolling) with Big. Nas aint even like his ass either. They were never that cool from the beginning, and had one of the biggest beefs all time. And Jay wasn't using Nas' lines for reasons of paying homage, not only cause they were dissing each other, but Jay had the nerve to say, you made it a hot line, I made it a hot song, in reference to Dead Presidents. I don't know about the rest as far as paying your dues and homage, but it's easy to just write your own shit, instead of copying (yes it's copying) 99% of other people's shit. He basically stole a Slick Rick song from under him, used a million of big's lines and stolen lyrical, dope shit from Rakim when he was with Eric B. I know Jay's not dumb. He's a smart, business man getting his cheddar, respect and working his investments, and to his favor. He's on his grind like Diddy and 50, but all 3 can't rap. And mainly, Jay-Z could be better off writing 99-100% of his shit, and still having time and energy to pay homage to his fav. emcees, without stealing their work and making it his.

I agree with what you're saying, but I do want to ask this.

Yeah it's true he steals from great artists and emcees, but why does he do it SO often? If he only "borrows" a couple lines or two, that would be fine and I wouldn't have a problem with it. I think it's the abundance of it. And he wasn't even friend, and instead was enemies with some of these dudes he stole from. Check out Swagger Jacker from Cam'ron. I can probably google Jay-Z songs and come up with a million other lines he took from a previous artist, who already and initially wrote it themselves.

And actually, I do like some Jay-Z songs. I bought The Black Album when it came out, and I love that album, but he stole shit on songs from that album as well.
