Shady Records ad in XXL few yrs ago sayin "TRICK OR TREAT"

Sorry if a topic about this has been posted but Im just wondering why this ad was in there..........At 1st I was thinking it was promotion for a new D12 album or Em, or even Trick Trick if he was gonna sign to Shady..............Does anybody have an info about this ad??? Thanks

It was for a D12 album that never got released. It was supposed to come out on Halloween, hence the name; Devil's Night was the first album with this type of theme (the night before Halloween in Detroit).

I'm surprised you kids don't remember this.

Joking, but I remember that ad. I thought it was odd that they actually did a little bit of promotion for that album, but never released it. That song with Swizz Beats that was released this year, "Ugly Bitch" was actually off of that album, supposedly. A quick google search will bring up a few forum posts from 2006 talking about the Swizz track and the album itself.

That's what I was thinking but its def not a 100% promo for the D12 album since it only said Shady records and NOT D12! I wish someone actually had a FACT to prove what the ad was meant for..........

Well...considering that D12 was going to release an album around that time by the name of "Trick or Treat" and they are signed to Shady Records, I think we can conclusively say that it was for the album.

Think about it. It's not meant for anything else when the album name was Trick Or Treat. It's nothing too mysterious. I'll bring some news articles relating to it if I find any, but here's a link to the XXL Magazine forum in 2006 talking about the releases for that year.

Yes indeed. I'm surprised you were aware of that title "The Ambition", however. That was relatively little known. They changed it from "The Ambition" midway through the year, I believe. It was titled "The Ambition" somewhere around a month after Proof was killed. I think after Swift got out of jail though, and they began recording that summer some more, the title was changed to "Trick or Treat".
