"Now my life is sweet like cinnamon. Like a fucking dream I'm living in."

Yeah, real depressing.

Some of you are confusing "sad" with "dark." The majority of her songs are not sad at all. Haunting, yes. Edgy, yes. Dramatic, yes. Sad? No.

The reason she hasn't blown up is because of her inability to play by the rules.

Ironically, it's one reason why Em blew up. But for her, and her genre, having explicit lyrics and dark imagery is not gonna sell her to tween girls, which is your audience when you're a pop star.

Adele had some success, but Lana, lyrically is way darker.

She's like the pop equivalent to Relapse.

I can't view it on my ipod!
Im gonna have to wait to watch it tomorrow :(

Ultraviolence. Mhm dunno what i think about it. Sounds cool enough. I can't imagine songs like Angels Forever and Starry Eyed being on an album named that. Or maybe she's not putting them on the album because they were leaked. Either way, happy to know its official that there's gonna be new material.

I like the God's and monsters and specially the Bell Air part. Body electric is a bit weird, haha...But I enjoyed the whole thing. Maybe they could make it a bit shorter.

Angels forever is great, but as it was leaked , I doubt it will be in the album...we'll have to wait and see.

I just finished watching it. This chick really, really, really needs to put out another album asap.

It's mind boggling. She's hot, her voice is versatile, she writes her own lyrics -- but loses out to bubblegum artists who are autotuned the fuck out and have the lyrics written for them.

It's gotta be her subject matter that's holding her back. She has some dark shit. It just can't translate to radio spins. Eminem knows all too well about that.

I figure just off that alone he'd be interested in working with her because they're similar in that sense. One single with Eminem would propel her career. Come on Marshall. Get on that shit.

Just watched Tropico, its so cool visually but I feel I'm gonna have to watch it a couple of more times to get to grips with what the story's trying to convey and stuff.

I get the main stuff like all the biblical symbolism but I feel there's even more hidden meanings.
I can't believe that lana wrote the whole thing, its so beautifully fucking poetic. Everything.

The way she described female features in such a wholesome and mundane way and how it contrasted with the gritty and sinful images depicted on screen.
omfg i wanna write a review!

I've read some reviews about Tropico, and all of them were bad.

I have to say, I loved more the first videos of Born to die, Ride was great too...Not saying Tropico is bad, but I think it could be better, and God damn it, the guy is so so so so ugly...

I get it like first they were in the garden of eden (body electric), then she ates the apple, and we've got the living in sin (Gods and monsters) and finally redemption ( Bell Air).

Just found what she says in Gods and Monsters is actually a poem from Allen Ginsburg. Still, it's my favourite bit.
I've been glancing through some reviews and the reception seems pretty lukewarm, your right. But then again, this is lana we're talking about. Everything is always gonna have a mixed reception, I guess.
I think overall its a good departure from the Born to Die era and I'm looking forward to see how the Ultraviolence era will turn out to be. My predictions is that she's gonna take on a full rockabilly persona or something. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

And yeah, Shaun Ross isnt really easy on the eye but he kinda fit the whole thing I guess. I guess its always unusual/tatted up guys for Lana.

Ultra-violence. Man. Apparently it's inspired by A Clockwork Orange?

Won't be able to keep the jizz inside my nutsack for long if that turns out to be true.

Born To Die was dark, Paradise was darker.

In before Ultra-violence = her Relapse.

Really? I'm hyped.
Also good comparison with relapse. Hopefully it gets released early next year. It sucks being stans of artists who deprive and tease their fans goddamnit.
lol and nice imagery you painted there

Rolemodel, you were right, Ultraviolence will have more Rock style songs. This is a snipped of a song that maybe will be there :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DJwSg-ORUxM

(don't judge by the quality, the song is high- pitched)

That's what people say. It sounds like old Lana to me though.........
