Bon Jovi

Postby Guess_Who » Jan 22nd, '13, 19:40

Someone here like Bon Jovi? I've been a fan since ages. Now their music is not the same anymore, they keep repeating the same style of songs, but they have big classics. And Jon is all a showman alive:

I predict this thread will have little sucess, but anyway...

My Mum's the biggest fan so I grew up to this after listening to it around the house, plus a bunch of other random 80's stuff

I stay with my uncle right now... and he is a BIG fan. You should see the way his eyes widen and gets excited when he talks about the video they do live in the streets and then get shut down by the police. See alot of VH1 classics too coz of all the 80s rock bands he's into.

Oh, about sounding the same... guess Rock doesnt have that need to be versatile. Create a sound and people WANT you to maintain that sound throughout the rest of your career tbh. No wonder Linkin Park confuses them

My sister loved this band so much, she moved to New Jersey.

I joke but, she is a fan.

You know, this was filmed in Seaside Heights, NJ, a neighborhood I know on the Jersey Shore.

As far as guitar goes, I personally liked Bed of Roses, that opening riff, but, y'know, I was a boy, boys listened to Guns N' Roses, girls listened to Bon Jovi... and that's how I thought when I was young.
I'm from South London from Westminster to the back streets of Thornton Heath.

Finally someone who likes Bon Jovi.

@ilovebender, I used to love both seems I'm a almost a kid , Guns'n Roses and Bon Jovi. I always were more a Bon Jovi fan because of what happened with Guns'n Roses. I can't even look at an actual pic of Axl, he is like another person to me now.
Bed of Roses is a great song. Richie Sambora is an amazing guitarrist too.

@francesco, I do like their old jobs a lot more too. I think now they are repeating the same style. But they are still amazing live. I was in a couple of shows and will go soon again and Jon is a great showman.

Btw I have family in New Jersey and they saw Jon a couple of times. But they couldn't care less, lol.

I mean Bon Jovi as a group has crazy fans all over the world but if we talk about Jersey people... it's a whole 'noter story. The people from your family you're talking about gotta be New Yorkers who live in Jersey to ease on taxes & shit. lol

^^ Well, they are from Spain but they live in New Jersey since lots of years. They just don't like Bon Jovi. But my cousin told me Jon does a lot of things for the community. It seems he is also a very normal guy and it's easy to see him without bodyguards and stuff like that.

I can't wait for the show in June, it's true that the new music is not the same anymore but in concert they are still amazing and the crowd always go crazy over songs like Living on a prayer. :flutter:

I get it. :y:
Well from what I've experienced/seen, Bruce Springsteen & Bon Jovi are semi Gods for the people in Jersey... excluding the very young peeps of course.

This song was great.

Maybe out of all the Bon Jovi songs going, this one speaks to me the most.

and there was a fat woman sitting by me literally shaking her ass non stop. i wanted to puke.

My sister saw them in 1996 in London at the Brit Awards... She also got to meet them and because of her, there's this snap shot of Jon Bon Jovi vintage 1996 that he posed for randomly in my family's photo album; Since my sister took it, she owns the rights to it and everything.

He's changed a bit since then; I can't get over how iconic his image was in that photo.

@bender, that song is great. I like it too.

I will watch Bon Jovi at the end of this month in Madrid. Not my first show, I saw them a couple of times before. I have no words. Jon is just an amazing showman.
And they rock alive. Check this video :

He did exactly the same performance here. I hope to have a great show again. I can't believe Jon is over 50....I saw him pretty close and I was ...impressed.
