The UK's Illmatic?

Postby geoff » Apr 28th, '14, 15:37

I was thinking to my self earlier and I came to the conclusion that imo Dizzee Rascals debut album released on 21 July 2003 when he was 17 is the UK's equivalent to illmatic.

I think that this album has a number of similarities to illmatic in terms of its impact on the industry and how at the time there wasn't really any UK rapper doing anything like this. It definitely changed the grime scene in the UK.

Love this album and i definetly need to bump it again cause it's been ages since i have. but uk's Illmatic? I don't really follow our scene that closely (because it's pretty poor tbh), whom would you say he influenced?
