Really? You put MMLP 2 over MMLP 1?
yeah i think so. its so tough, the original is what got me into em but i love this album a lot. i think its immense, had similar shock value in terms of songs (bad guy, headlights) and is filled throughout with amazing wordplay and metaphors. his rhyming is insane and the album length is basically double because every song is 3 long verses (for the most part, plus the bonus tracks...whereas the original he had a decent amount of features and a lot of skits). i know it sounds crazy but as of now, yeah i'd say so.
That's cool dude. Yeah MMLP 2 is fucking insane technically speaking as far as his rapping goes and rhyming. He's better than ever in that aspect.
And I've always loved TES. It's my favorite Em album
I sometimes get shocked when I see people ripping it or saying that MMLP and SSLP are miles ahead of TES. God, there's something about TES that I can't explain but it just resonates with me so much. Maybe because my Dad used to always play rock for me when I was little so I grew to liking rap rock so TES is a dream come true for someone who really digs rap rock. Maybe it's all subjective but I think TES is his most amazing work yet. Practically everything he wrote in 2002 was pure genius imo and I've always had a preference for his 8 Mile music and songs from around that era as opposed to like 1999 and 2000 stuff. Don't get me wrong, I love SSLP and MMLP but there's something about the quality and vibe of his rapping in 2002 that just makes me consider it his strongest work.
