It all comes down to preference.

He meant to say Christina Aguilera - Ain't No Other Man.

Producer: DJ Premier, Charles Roane (co-producer) & Christina Aguilera (additional production)

That explains why the beat has an old school feel to it.

Wow, I had no idea he produced that song. That's pretty interesting actually, the song even won a grammy. Sweet :smoking:

Any music that, when played loud enough, makes you want to rape and murder people is good music.
Music that creates circle pits so violent that the fucking Devil himself rises like Leviathan through the molten earth, virgin to the chaos that envelopes the terrestrial pentecost with tears of false remorse that dost extinguish the heavenly hearth of the holy.
Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets.

You have an interesting take on music.

My taste is completely different, but it's also different from Scott's so I guess calling out this section for being full of "bad" music isn't really justified. As has been said and quoted, it all comes down to preference.

I like introspective music that makes you think...and I don't really blast music, ever.

But you can't mosh to introspective music, Raoul Duke.
I like music that affects me physically as well as emotionally. Some of the shit I listen to could send chills down a motherfucker's spine and keep you up at night.
But I consider "bad" music to be music that is clearly not a product of the artist being his/her/themselves, but trying to be something they're not.

None more Negative

I agree, music that is true to the artist's self is the best.

And I'm not much of a moshing kind of guy. Your view is perfectly valid, just not my style. Either way, your statement about true artistic expression can apply to music in any genre, and is a perfect way to describe how I feel about music as well.

"Bury Me With It" by Modest Mouse is about as crazy as I get with it. Definitely lullaby music compared to some of the stuff you're into, I'm sure. Still, it does make me feel like I'm in bat country, waiting for the Mesc to kick in.
