I like the energy, the flow and the lyrics, the hook could be better in my opinion

Wasn't ready to be a millionaire, I was ill-prepared
I was prepared to be ill, though, the skill was there

I'm not a rapper, I'm an adapter
I can adjust, plus I can just walk up to a mic and just bust
So floor's open if you'd like to discuss

Top 5 in this motherfucker and if I don't make the cut
What, like I give a fuck :worship:

My skin is too thick and bullet proof to touch me
I can see why the fuck I disgust you!
I must be allergic to failure cause everytime I come close to it I just sneeze
I just go atchoo then achieve!

There's a certain mystique when I speak, that you notice
Cause it's sort of unique cause you know it's me
My poetry's deep, and I'm stillmatic, the way I flow to this beat
You can't sit still, it's like trying to smoke crack and go to sleep
I'm strapped, it's known any minute I could snap
I'm the equivalent of what would happen if Bush rapped
I bully these rappers so bad lyrically
It ain't even funny, I ain't even hungry, it ain't even money

Lyrics are great, production is pretty good, hook is good, Em's flow is ight, and his screaming voice fits the song. 8/10 I hope this isn't what the album will sounds like though. Hopefully it's just a track for COD

Damn that was fast... I totally love the second & the third verse... the first one is kinda weaker but not bad. I like the song overall too but that type of Em records aren't my favorite in general. Still solid & one I expect to do well on the charts!

I've had this song on repeat and I listened to it for about 6/7 times.
When I first heard it on that Call Of Duty trailer I was so hyped I started jumping around my house like a freak, I swear I couldn't control myself.
Anyway now that I've listened to the full version (including the third verse) and I've calmed down (lol) I can honestly say that I like it, I like it a lot.
We have to see this like a Won't Back Down/Cinderella Man-type of track. A hype up song.
This track, though, has something which puts it over Won't Back Down, a concept. Won't Back Down was just a beat filled with punchlines. Cool, but not enough. This song has actually a concept.
I don't get the Recovery comparison at all. I can't see any similarities between this and his Recovery style. The yelling maybe? But he has always yelled in this types of songs, from the 'Till I Collapse days. Plus, he doesn't really scream all the way through the song. He just keeps switching from a calm/relaxed voice to an angry/yelling voice, and it's a cool effect I think.
If this song reminded me of something, it surely reminded me of Symphony in H and Our House, so that indicated that this is a whole new style, and not a recycle of what his Recovery style sounded like.
The earliest era this song reminds may be the Hell: The Sequel era. And it's not a bad thing.

The lyrics are there, his flow is good and the delivery is awesome.
The beat is cool, and we know that one of the worst part of Recovery was the production, let's hope that he won't fail again in that aspect with this new record, but we just have to wait and see.
Anyway this song, in my opinion, is a step in the right direction. This is the Em I want to hear, and this made me excited about the new album.
I'd say it's a 8/10 song.
I'll maybe review it again in a few days, when the hype about it kind of settles down, and see if I changed my opinion about it.

Peace.

Very good review. And who knows? This could actually turn out to be the WEAKEST track on the album. Now wouldn't that be something?

I don't know why he says this though:
"Last chance to make this whole stadium erupt"
Why "last chance"? This isn't his last album, we're 99% sure about it, so why would he say that? Does he feel like this is the last time he can actually change people's opinion about him?
I don't know how to interpret that line.

EDIT: Anyway this song feels like it's full of Punch Ins lol.

Good review by Never_Enough. I feel its an song to start the concert, to hype...I hope that the album gonna be an different style, something with slower/heavy beats. But it was a good start as I said in the first post

It gets better and better. Hook is aight, loved the lines and his voice (Although the main reason why I don't like Recovery is his shouting). His voice just fits perfectly in this song. His energy and confidence makes me hopeful about the new album. Also, his flow is good.

8/10 imo.

Aone10 wrote:I love the entendres, the world play, and the metaphors. As a writer, Eminem has clearly made a step in the right direction after Recovery. While the production by DJ Khalil and hook by Liz Rodriguez may come off as "Recoveryish", the record itself is far from that, if anything, this is what Recovery should've sounded like had Eminem taken time to give the album the attention to detail it deserved.

Eminem is coherent in his thoughts and sounds comfortable. I love the switch ups in his flow and delivery throughout the track as well, it meshes well with the production and doesn't sound like the sonic-mess that this keeps getting compared to (Won't Back Down).

If this is any indication of what is to come from Eminem on his 8th studio album, then we are in for an explosive effort. Should the album maintain a cohesive sound and coherent theme like everything prior to Recovery, then we may just be getting Eminem's strongest effort since his comeback.

It's like you read my mind. I immediately thought that while the track sounds Recoveryish that this is really what Recovery could have and should have been.

His lyrics are great, features some of his best lines since his comeback so far. Other songs on the album can only be better. Flow and delivery, fucking awesome. Hook and beat are kind of generic but oh well. Eminem himself more than makes up for it with his energy.

You already said prett much everything
All I can add right now it's the song is enjoyable as hell
I mean, you can put it on and feel good about it, that might be mininal, but it's a great thing
I also think that, once we listen to this one on the album, shit will appear even better

I love it, I bump it 24 hours a day.

I just hope the album isn't just like this song, too "Recovery....ish."

I really like this song. I love his energy and hunger. Rhyme schemes are dope too.

Hook, yes, could be a bit better... but I'm happy with it nonetheless.

Fuck, that got me hyped.

OT: Personally I don't enjoy it that much, maybe it's my style, idk. I don't think the lyrics fit the beat. Maybe it's my high expectations, but (not wanting to be rude) he had time to do it better... Although it was a great news, getting shit from him, it didn't fit my expectations. I hope it's as Jamaican says :sweating:

Don't really like just quoting someone and saying "this," but this honestly sums up what I feel about it perfectly.
