I'd say it's 'great'... classic verses, chorus, and production... as for the concept... everybody here knows I tire of introspective shit at this point, and I'm annoyed at how easily people overrate songs if there's ANY personal element, even if the song is average...

Um, but this is a great song to me. But yeah, perhaps overrated for sure... many fags who just like to hear about his life call it 'easily' the best song on 'Relapse' etc.... Lol. No. Nice song, but no.

Many fags also just like to hear him go absolutely balls to the walls and tear up his vocal chords with aggressive, in-your-face type shit. The ones that call songs like Almost Famous classic and shit. :shifty:

Some do yeah.

Personally I like it when he creates a concept or has creative goals in mind such as with "Criminal" where he took the concept of him being a 'criminal' for writing lyrics and interpreted it in to a literal story with him robbing a bank etc. in order to illustrate how absurd and exaggerated his image and treatment by the media and public was, and how far away from criminality it actually is, even though that's the implication. That is a creative and entertaining use of his talents: not a 4th wall break of him whining about his life that's come about because of his talents.

Which is just weird and self-defeating. And repetitive. :shifty:

This song is better than some of the songs he made in his prime.

Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.

It's a great song but not even a top 5 'Relapse' track for me...

You might be thinking of when I've said a few times that if 'Relapse' had ended on "Deja Vu" and then faded out, as the song does... the album would have been perfection.

He goes through a manic, murderous, pill-popping 'Relapse' of fantasy and recollection... then overdoses (Mr. Mathers), then wakes up to recount it... out of the psychotic haze yet still in the style of 'Relapse', every single track including that and all the skits flow PERFECTLY to me if 'Relapse' is like that. And I do believe that was the intended album, and the final three were tagged on.

So are other songs off Relapse/Refill/Recovery. Not every song he made in his prime is pure gold.

I'd wouldn't say Refill. It wasn't that great and was just 50% as good as Relapse. Buffalo Bill, Music Box were all good but nah, can't be compared to anything from his Prime.

Agreed. It was on an altogether different dimension.

Perhaps because it's on an album with lots of bad tracks, so it seems good in comparison?

I loved Deja Vu though. I probably listened to it more than all the other Relapse songs combined.
