Groundhog Day

Here you can review anything related to Slim Shady

This song really is so refreshing. Reminds me of a much better Yellow Brick Road with a heavy dosage of Shady thrown in.

Anyone wanna have a go at making an extended version with the the hook being played after the first few samples?
(So essentially breaking up the massive first verse).

The hook is awesome. It's a shame we only hear it once.
"Oh, he'll give us what we need.
It may not be what we want."

The beat sounds like an Eminem beat. Even after all the shit he's rapped about when it comes to his teen years, this stuff still sounds fresh. At around 2:22, the rhyming is just really intense. I loved it.

The end of the song is fucking hilarious.

Groundhog Day is growing on me fast. It's definitely top 3 from the album.

Singin' "Bagpipes from Baghdad" again
In my dad's drag draggin' a faggot in a Glad bag
Won't be the last time I make a dramatic entrance like that again
You thought I was lyin' when I said I think that I'm crossin' the line again
I've lost my mind, caution oh God I think I've just thought of another fucking line
Forgive me father, for I have sinned
But hip hop has left me brainwashed with a violent streak

I think the first part of this song sometimes doesn't get talked about enough. It's pretty fucking amazing the whole "superstitious" rhyme scheme and the way Em carries on that rhyme scheme for dozens of bars and keeps on rhyming even internally. It's pretty damn incredible.
