Almost Famous

Postby DetroitSkills » Feb 4th, '14, 23:21

Whats yalls opinion on it? http://rapgenius.com/Eminem-almost-famous-lyrics
Im curious because ppl i know in real life diss n underate it because of the recovery yelling n the 1st verse.
I personally love the song, its enjoyable to bump and does its job as a good pump-up anthem, the beat, flow, etc.
That 3rd verse :worship: i love the way it ends suddenly, sort of like rabbit run, or rap god.

"If I gotta scream 'til I have half a lung
If I had half a chance I'd grab it — Rabbit, run
"

"So bear witness to some biblical shit
As a cold wind blowing this world ain't gonna know what hit it
He did it, he made it, he's finally famous
"

"And make her fall on her face and don't be a retard
Be a king? Think not, why be a king when you can be a God?
"

Maybe its just me its like he just rapes the track n drops the mic like,
Image

"The bullies become bullied, the pussies get pushed
Then they better pull me, take me back to 9th grade to school me
Cause I ain't looking back, only forward, this whole spot blowing
Who could've known he'd grow to be a poet and not know it
"

I like the beat, the hook and the lyrics. Em's delivery is annoying to me, though.

I love the "all these haters are menime's eminem backwards!" one of his best lines on recovery imo.

Singin' "Bagpipes from Baghdad" again
In my dad's drag draggin' a faggot in a Glad bag
Won't be the last time I make a dramatic entrance like that again
You thought I was lyin' when I said I think that I'm crossin' the line again
I've lost my mind, caution oh God I think I've just thought of another fucking line
Forgive me father, for I have sinned
But hip hop has left me brainwashed with a violent streak

It's one of my few favorite ones on Recovery.

I love this part...

I stuck my dick in this game like a rapist
They call me Slim Roethlisberger
I go bezerker than a fed-up post-office worker
I'm Erkel with a Mossberg
I'm pissed off get murdered

I love the antidisestablishmentarianism line. Pretty corny but always thought it was funny and appropriate. Man, I love this song.

I just realized I haven't listened to Recovery since MMLP2 dropped... maybe even like a couple of months before that.

I have actually listened to TSSLP, TMMLP, TES, Relapse & few other albums along with MMLP2 since it dropped 'cuz they're in the CD changer in my car... It's definitely time to hit Recovery too though. I'm on it tomorrow.
