8 Mile (Song)

Often overlooked due to the success and popularity of "Lose Yourself", 8 Mile is one of my favorite songs of Eminem's. 6 minutes long with 3 GREAT verses, a nice beat, and lyrics that are worthy of some award. I really think this deserves more credit than it gets.

It is amazing. i believe it was looked at as being the single for the movie. it really does bring the whole film into a song so to speak. but lose yourself was just too good to pass up as the "song" for the movie

The intro is irritating to me. It's too long or something. Or the train sounds irritating. LOL

This line stood out for me:
That I don't pray to the sky, please I'm begging you God
Please don't let me be pigeon holed in no regular job

This song is inspiring. The lines came out strong and very easy to relate to.

I also like:
Or am I just another crab in the bucket
Cause I ain't having no luck with this little rabbit's foot, fuck it

The flow is too good. Majestic. :worship:

In my top 5 Eminem songs definitely.
Fuck top five, bitch, I'm top four
And that includes Biggie and Pac, whore
And I got an Evil Twin
So who the fuck do you think that third and that fourth spot's for?

This song is arguably in Em's top 10 songs ever. The 3rd verse is fucking amazing. Between the way he keeps on flowing and then his rhyming too, it's crazy. Crazy insane

The 8 Mile Soundtrack has probably some of Eminem's best work that isn't on one of his major studio albums

I like it better than Lose Yourself. It is my favorite on the 8 Mile CD!

Singin' "Bagpipes from Baghdad" again
In my dad's drag draggin' a faggot in a Glad bag
Won't be the last time I make a dramatic entrance like that again
You thought I was lyin' when I said I think that I'm crossin' the line again
I've lost my mind, caution oh God I think I've just thought of another fucking line
Forgive me father, for I have sinned
But hip hop has left me brainwashed with a violent streak

This darkness comes in me (Evil twin)
And comes again
That ain't me
He's just a friend who pops up now and again
So don't blame me, blame him

Too bad Em didn't have more solo cuts on the album though... he was on fire at the time.

i never really thought about it that way. and maybe he could have or did and shit got left off. but yeah, he was beyond on fire at that time, arguably the best time frame of his career

This album is great enough the way it is but if there were more solo Em cuts or if he at least added more verses to the songs he wasn't on would be fucking insane my brother.
