Bad Guy

Postby natedogg7201 » May 11th, '14, 00:22

One of the best songs Em has released in ages, and undoubtedly the best song on the MMLP2. Its a sequel to Stan, and it really keeps the quality of Stan. It's also amazing how its not called Stan 2, and when you hear it for the first time, you don't even get that its a Stan sequel until the third verse and its really amazing. Then the fourth verse with has some of his best lines. The beat fits in perfectly, and the chorus is really amazing and fitting to the tone of the song.

Album wise - 10/10
Altogether - 9.7/10

Also before you hear the song you're all like :coffee: then after you hear it you're all like :'( :worship:
Just waiting for a SSLP2

No, YOU go back to rehab.

You will be the only person in the world to check into rehab due to raging Italian anger.

love this song, its kinda of a slow burn. Starts off slow picking up the intensity with every verse...

undoubtedly on of the best songs on MMLP2
" Life can change your directions, even when you ain't planned it
All you can do it handle it, worst thing you can do is panic
Use it to your advantage, avoid insanity manage
To conquer, every obstacle, make impossible possible
Even when winning illogical, losing is still far from optional.." -T.I.

I think "Stan" is technically better

Nah, Bad Guy is a masterpiece in the most literal sense of the word. Eminem was still perfecting his craft when he made Stan (as the last verse shows) but Bad Guy is the work of someone who has that shit mastered.
From the intentionally vague first verse, to the progressively increasing tension, to the eventual glorious climax.
Then, there's the voice acting, then the little brilliant lines "here's the sequel to my Mathers LP just to get people to buy", and the stark eloquence of the closing lines.
IMO, Bad Guy is the greatest song Eminem has ever made, I said it 6 months ago and I still think so now.

Nah, the fact that it's a sequel to Stan has nothing to do with it, other than explaining Matthew's motivations, and that was only needed in the first and second verses.
It's sort of like 97 Bonnie and Clyde and Kim; even if you don't recognize the reference, it's still pretty fucking great.
