^ he made the album, therefore his opinion is irrelevant. And I'm not hating Encore, I still listen to some tracks off Encore now but it's no where near a great album, let alone "Illmatic"

I feel that encore was not a great album compared to the MMLP and TES so people compared it to those 2 projects and were dissapointed. Not to mention many of his songs were leaked so he had to add new songs to the album and push the release date forward but overall encore was always an enjoyable album to me

The thing about Encore is, when it's good, it's great (counting bonus tracks and Straight from the Lab)
Like Toy Soldiers
Never Enough
Mockingbird
Ricky Ticky Toc
Monkey See, Monkey Do
We As Americans

But when it's bad...it's fucking awful
Puke
Big Weenie
Ass Like That
I do stand up.

This is only your opinion, it doesn't mean you are right.

Encore was garbage. It was a mediocre album like the rap stars as of late make. A CD full of garbage tracks with a couple good ones

Crazy In Love (so underrated it's sad)
Yellow Brick Road
Evil Deeds
Spend Some Time
Puke (alot of people hate it but the "coke head slut" bit is amazing)
Mosh
Toy Soldiers
Never Enough
One Shot 2 Shot
Encore

All very good songs IMO...

I don't like Just Lose It but that's the catchy poppy single you get every album, and fair enough My 1st Single & Big Weenie are terrible but songs like One Shot 2 Shot and Encore aren't as bad as some people make out, I actually really like One Shot 2 Shot, at one point they go on about a black car in it and I think it's really well put together.

If I had to get rid of Encore or Get Rich or Die Tryin, I'd pick Encore in a second, an Ipod without Crazy In Love isn't worth thinking about! :D

The thing that dissapointed me about Encore was that even the good songs were only good (maybe) while every song on the TES was not only good but great. And then Encore also had appalingly bad songs to go with the not exactly earth shatteringly good songs imo.

I agree apart from the bit where u said there was no great songs, I keep saying it but Crazy In Love is one of my all time favorites, allthough I agree about the other 14 tracks, Encore was dissapointing but was deffo not "hard to enjoy"

I've always enjoyed Encore, so it didn't make a difference to me. But I guess it still is better to know that wasn't his full potential at the moment.
