Why did the Bass Brothers (according to Wiki that's who produced the SSLP version - not reliable I know) mess about with this so much?

The SSEP version is so sick it's ridiculous. The beat on the original has such a raw feel to it that makes Em's soothing voice about violent acts sound so much better.

On the SSLP, not only is the intro by Frogger slowed down to make it sound like absolute crap, the beat is made over complicated by adding more sounds in to 'freshen' it up to try and fit in with SSLP's style. Also, they get rid of "raped the women's swimteam" line, although I guess they had no choice in that one.

I honestly, only listen to the original version of this now, as the SSLP one sounds so annoying.

cause i remember iovine had the pussy cat dolls change a beat to one of there songs back in 05, to give it more of a club feel.

so im sure ivoine had control issues about the bass bros, and how he wanted the sslp more dre focused.
cause dre and him have been mad close forever, so i can only assume. I also remember him telling akon to change the hook for gwen stefani's sweet escape.

So yeah, he's been known to really do some weird shit, and stall albums. But being the sslp eminems first drop from interscope, im sure he had his way with most of it, just to save his reputation

in the end its all about image, yeah it was a big risk dre working with em, but an even bigger risk releasing a WHITE rap album on interscope,.....so yeah, anyways i still say fuck jimmy

Weirdly enough, the first version of JDGAF I heard was the SSEP one, so maybe that's why I prefer it. I just think it has much rawer beat. 97 B & C is way better than JTTOU - much more clean and refined.

Not sure. I know they co-wrote lose yourself and won a grammy for it. They didn't work together after that but I read somewhere they helped in the production of Beautiful.

I prefer the SSLP version, probably cause it's the first one I heard. The changes they do to it sound better for me personally. But I do prefer Just The Two Of Us than '97 Bonnie & Clyde, the latter has an add-on to the beat which I sorta dislike.
