I'd say that youth are drawn towards it because it becomes part of their culture, society, way of life, etc. Or that they do not have friends or direction, so they gravitate towards the violent, drug-life.

um a great suggestion is to clean up bad parts of the city or town or neighborhood. by fixing rundown houses, removing graffiti, etc, you remove crime. it's actually been a proven method, just say that

It's like if you were to remove bball courts, people wouldn't play ball anymore.

Places that look like crimes and illegal activity take place there, is where people go to do illegal activities.
