I didn't say personal, I said IDEAS. His subject matter was complete social commentary. Mocking society. Artistically MMLP does beat TES. TES is still a better album though.

Artistically The Eminem Show is superior remember he did more production on The Eminem Show while he just produced half The MMLP compared to The Eminem which he produced almost the whole album and Artistically he did something experimental that he has never done made a whole song just singing. He also as far as being Artistic expressed himself on The Eminem Show like he has on no other album so i agree Lyrically and Musically The Eminem Show is better but it is also Artistically better if you look at the facts.

Well it's not really fantasy music...
That's partially why The Marshall Mathers LP is so brilliant, because he treads that line so carefully. "Kim" for example is a fantasy in terms of its concept yet its execution is SO realistic and he's setting scenes in each verse, like a screenwriter in a movie... the dialogue is the lyrics and yet it's not... contrived; it sounds like you're 'listening in' to this event, it feels LIVE, even to this day.
And that's what makes the entire album so compelling; that style and that blur of macabre, humour, personal struggle and reality, personal fantasy... it's a complex blend and it's extremely well-done. And he pretty much tries to do it on all his albums to a degree but on none is it so well done than The Marshall Mathers LP, it's like a documentary of madness.
It's as realistic and down to earth as it is on another planet and psychotic.
I like compelling material. And The Marshall Mathers LP is compelling, and thrilling.
