I agree with the OP to some extent., the 40's of today has nothing to do with the 40's of 2 decades ago. And not everyone ages the same way.

I don't think Eminem looks particulary young for his age. What happens is many people with 15, imagine a 40 years old person looking incredible old and wasted. I know people in their 20 something that looks really old. It is in the person too.

I wouldn't like to see him out of breath on a stage. But as long as he is good and still can do it is ok with me. But would be fake to say having 40- 50 ... is the same than 20.
