It feels like more of an all around album to me, but none the less, those 4-5 shit tracks make it atleast a five in my book. I can sit through all of it though, with the exception of My 1st Single.

I agree about encore. I can't sit through recovery. I like to pretend it never came out.

Encore isn't even close to good, but at least it has some personality. obnoxious personality, but personality nonetheless. it's a distinctive work. Recovery is boring as fuck and an absolute chore to sit through. it's trash with no redeeming value except for a handful of decent songs, none of which are essential or anywhere near Eminem's greatest work, or even his greatest work post-hiatus. i've reached a point in my life where i doubt i'll ever hear the album again.

I mostly agree. I think that's what it comes down to: Encore has personality and Recovery doesn't. People may say Recovery has personality but not the signature one people know from Eminem. Encore may have had a lot of fart jokes and potty humor and really dumb immature moments but it feels like an Eminem album and thus has its place in Eminem's discography even if it is towards the bottom but Recovery is just so forced and doesn't feel genuine. It doesn't feel like an Eminem album.

yeah, absolutely. as heavily flawed as it is, Encore still feels on some level like an Eminem album. Recovery feels like a generic newcomer's Wayne-biting mixtape. there's no Eminem in it. MMLP2 could've been better, and i don't find myself listening to it much now that the hype has died down, but it was a huge leap in the right direction. i'm actually curious to see what Em does next.
