'Kim'

Hey all,

I'm sure you all know the story about 'Kim'. Eminem performed it live in Detroit after telling Kim that he wouldn't and she responded by slitting her wrists in an unsuccessful suicide attempt.

However, when I was a lurker on the board I was reading some people doubting he ever performed the song live. There's no footage of it. I thought I'd re-open the discussion.

What's your thoughts?

Well I read up a bit about it and Em supposedly performed it live in 2000.

Now I'm not saying that cameras didn't exist at that time or anything, but it was a bit more rare to see videos of live performances back then that wasn't to be presented on TV. It's not like today where you see videos of EVERY single song Eminems performing live on his tours on Youtube.

I'll take Kims actual word for it. Why would she lie about something like that? Em performed the song once and nobody bothered to record it, doesn't mean it didn't happen.

Though I really wish Em would perform that song live again one of these days. It's my third favorite song from the MMLP after Stan and Kill You.

"I just got in a feud in some parkin' lot with a dude
Over Kim, and she just slit both of her wrists over this shit"
A different story reason for slitting her wrists.

Yeah, I was searching for it too.. Bit he will never perform it, he said that he doesnt even listen to it.

I recall reading somewhere that he was performing it at all the concerts I guess up until the Detroit one where she tried to kill herself. But I found a video of the Toronto concert, which was 2-3 days before, and he didn't perform it.

It will be interesting to see if footage does ever come out, or if anyone here can confirm they know he performed it.

I don't think she would lie tbh, could you imagine something as twisted as that? I highly doubt she lied.

It's like an urban legend. They say that he used to perform it for the whole Up In Smoke Tour, and it got deleted from the DVD because of the extreme rudeness of the song.
I think he performed it. And I'm sure that some guy somewhere recorded it. I think the video will appear on the internet at some point, we just have to wait.

There was a 7 minute video on MontrealSTAN's YouTube channel and I messaged him and he told me that he (or his friend, I can't remember) had footage of the entire show. And eminem didn't perform Kim.

For whatever reason I thought the full video was up there but it was just a 7 minute thing.

And I believe that Kim was lying back then, and I belive that the messege in Don't Aproach Me is the real story (as Suzanne.s said).

The complete show will be available october 5th, but unfortunately he didn't perform Kim, we have a lot of bootlegs concert and none of them have a live performance of KIM.

I kinda feel sorry for Kim sometimes... and always skip the song, it's just too much emotions for me to handle. Too much hate. But the hook is useful sometimes, when I think about someone I hate.
