Do ppl really think that? Wtf lmao. Thats like saying fack is genuinely a good song

I've seen people praise it on here a lot, can't find any evidence but I'm fairly sure I've seen it.

Also, this might start an argument but I genuinely don't think Rap God is anything groundbreaking. Sure, it's not a bad song or whatever but once the hype about his super speed part - which, compared to rappers like Tech N9ne, Busta Rhymes and others, isn't even too quick - died off, it really is just a song that doesn't say anything and using extremely outdated references like the Fabolous line that is what, 4 years old?

I agree tbh. I mean i love the song n shit. BUt its not like its the best thing ever.

No it isn't. If you're implying a song like "Fack" comes close to an iota of the quality either SMB or STIW has than that's just wrong.

The notion behind "Fack" is hilarious, but it's the definition of 'dreadful'. Nothing on MMLP2 is close to dreadful imo.

Even the 2nd Berzerk verse, the pig line on SMB or the attempt at singing on STIW? Not close to Fack, I agree, but still fairly close to dreadful compared to Brainless, Baby and GD.

Even the first verse on Love Game was meh, but the last verse is one of my favourite off the album, so I can't fault the song itself

Wrong word, I mean it's nothing special or anything like that.

Although at release you'd have thought he dropped another Criminal.

Praise does not equate to calling it a classic. I think So Much Better is good, I wouldnt call it a classic though.
Also Rap Gods brilliance doesnt lie only in the super speed part. It's the variety of flows he uses, seamlessly bouncing between them, the self awareness, the rhyming, the creativity etc. You don't have to like the song, but one outdated reference doesnt make it bad or even mediocre. It could use some editing sure, but that doesnt make the other 90% of the song any less awesome.

All you can do it handle it, worst thing you can do is panic
Use it to your advantage, avoid insanity manage
To conquer, every obstacle, make impossible possible
Even when winning illogical, losing is still far from optional.." -T.I.

So Much Better is awful though, imo of course.

What about his rapping is special? Lyrics wise the most noteworthy part isn't anything special, and honestly everything about some of the other songs completely outshine it, such as Brainless or even Baby to a lesser extent.

I understand I'm not going to change your opinion, I'm not trying to, but I still don't think it's special in any way. He's using his cockiness to try and show how he's going back to his not giving a fuck style, and while it may have worked in a way, there's no way it stands up to MMLP.

Even his attempt to stay relevant on it failed in places

I really worded that wrong, I meant to say when did people call an album with songs like them on it a classic - MMLP had UTI and the Ken Kannif skit sure, but UTI is better than SMB imo, and KK is just a skit.

I didn't say Rap God is bad, I said it's not bad, I just don't think it deserves its praise that it receives a lot of the time; the bland and the hook is meh.

I don't want to get into some heated argument about this though, so I'll probably drop it from here.

Having an opinion on a song = stupid, ok then.

I said I'll drop it and I couldn't care less what you think of my opinions especially on a song like Rap God

Not at all.

If you get 7/10 on your first test then 9/10 on your second test and put them beside each other, the first test is still a 7/10.

It just doesn't make sense to me how people do that. "Yeah the song isn't bad at all but compared to this, it SUCKS". Why does it suck? Doesn't it just mean the other one is better but the first song still maintains its previous rating?

I also don't see what's wrong with 'pig' line on SMB, not pointing fingers, but I swear people can't stand Em just having fun sometimes. The entire song is Em bashing the FUCK outta women and degrading them to the highest degree, there's gonna be cheesy jokey lines like that that are just meant to be what they are - a joke. You're obviously smart enough to know that, so know that I'm not talking to or about you but you just brought something to my attention.

I get your point on comparisons, I admit it was wrong to compare the two albums, I guess the name kind of drew me into making the comparison.

RE the pig lines - I get they're used in a loose and humorous way, but it's one of those things where whilst it's not the only reason I dislike the song, he emphasises it and the way he delivers it, I don't know how to explain it, but I severely dislike it.

PS: This makes me sound like some Studioleaks guy who just signed up to hate on Em, I genuinely listen to mostly only Eminem songs, or songs affiliated with him, but this is the best way for me to say my opinions on his most recent and most recognisable work.
