My problem with that line is not just the fact that the word doesn't exist, but something can't be more perfect than something else. Something is either perfect or it isn't.

He has the same problem in Business. "Most rawest."

I find it very hard to believe Eminem doesn't know that perfecter isn't a word, though.

These are songs where he only cares about how closely he's mimicking the beat/drums (at the expense of intelligibility and grammar) because he started to believe that was what good flow was.

I think that's an extremely obvious example of him intentionally messing with a word though, as the examples you gave such as 'spun'd'. I think it's the fact 'perfecter' ironically isn't perfect - he's emphasized it by mispeaking, he always does things like this.

The reason why Eminem says words in a certain way is to create a multiple rhyming effect. Sometimes it's very hard to do and you have to go with whatever piece fits the puzzle the best. Rap was never supposed to be about using perfect grammar. Eminem even studied the dictionary. He uses words such as ''truculent'' in HTS.

I'll admit I was somewhat high last night but the way you analyzed Eminem's lyrics so precisely to the point where you can point out when he's using incorrect grammar amazes me. I never even noticed "spun'd" around.

Eminem obviously knows correct grammar, as do most people who talk in Ebonics. It's just not "cool" in the urban subculture to sound like a "nerd," so they talk like that to fit in. All you have to do is listen to his interview on Howard Stern where Stern calls him on "I had went," and Eminem immediately goes, "what is it,'I had GONE?'"

This is a guy who plays around with words all day, every day. He'll even put multis in his dying words.

And when you write song lyrics, grammar goes out the window, much as it does in poetry.
