That was more of a "it needs to go through the boss for approval" kind of thing. The album was recorded and mixed without Eminem's presence.

If anything, he might've had a song that Em contributed a verse to and he might've made some suggestions as which songs to keep on the album and which ones to leave off.

"Yo Yela, I think you need some Rihanna, Skylar and ADK here"
