I Just Listened To Encore

Like, 2/3 weeks ago, and I was kinda shocked.
Strong 8/10 album, only brought down by One Shot Two Shot, Evil Deeds and Mosh.
Yellow Brick Road and Love You More are some of the strongest songs in Eminem's discography.
Why do you guys (except Raul) act like it suucks?
Also, I had a sort of review typed up but I can't find it.

I genuinely don't understand your opinion. You're saying Ass Like That > One Sot Two Shot, Evil Deeds or Mosh.

I'd buy these tracks as an EP before Relapse or Recovery. Encore > MMLP2 in some ways but it's not even close in others.

relapse sounds way too forced to me. it's almost depressing how unnatural he sounds. multis can only carry an album so far.

Evil Deeds and Mosh are two of the strongest / maybe the strongest tracks doe.

Also, it's brought down by way more than 2 songs.

- Big Weenie (which I actually like but it's too ridiculous to gel with the over-seriousness of shit like Like Toy Soldiers... the contrast can't be that vast and it still feel like one album)

- Just Lose It (probably his worst song ever)

- Ass Like That

... Shit is just weak and silly.

One Shot 2 Shot always stood out as weak in my mind too but it actually stuck to the encore of death / killing the audience concept and it's disappointing as hearing that little concept stick to the narrative of the album backdrop just makes me think... what could have been/ how genius it could have been if he truly did structure it to feel like a consistent encore which built up in drama or something.

considering the daze he was in I will always see this as a decent album and an appropriate end to the sslp mmlp tes 8mile era. it's kinda like watching rome burn down, all of its spectacular achievement for what? a rebirth

Yeah, I'm pretty much saying Ass Like That and Rainman are better songs than Mosh and Evil Deeds.
Get the Pitchforks and torches.
Like I said before, it isn't really about the subject matter so much as the way it's handled, and I'm not particularly a fan of Eminem attempting unintelligent/uninsightful political commentary on Mosh.
Or sounding uncharacteristically muddy and incoherent like on the 2nd and 3rd verses of Evil Deeds.
Fuck, I'd rather Em randomly rhyme about how someone got a videotape of Britney and Justin underage fucking but was somehow more interested in whether they dropped the N-word.

The Ultimate Way to Top TES...

Would of been to actually act out what happens on Encore in real life.

So he comes with TES, then Encore and at a show for Encore, literally, at the end shoots the audience and then himself on stage. Ultimate way to top his greatest work, his art becomes REAL and he goes out a legend.

Then, the actual... Material on Encore and the whole theme would suddenly become so much more powerful. The toned down lyricism and bad music would scarcely matter in context to that, his ramblings and actions on the CD would of actually been mimicked / acted out by the man himself...

That would be fucked up, obviously I don't want that to happen but just thought about if that did happen the other day and felt like making a piece of shit thread on it.
