I don't know where he posted it, but EmBase made a great post about it. Basically, MMLP is supposed to have the "fuck everything" mentality - including pop artists on your album isn't the way to go.

I don't mind Rihanna on Recovery as it's a light album and doesn't try to be anything it's not. The Marshall Mathers LP name carries an anti-pop, anti-establishment feeling. Not an album name you'd associate with Rihanna, a Call of Duty promo and some faggot in skinny jeans who sings in the pop band Fun.
