If you relate the lyrics to the change in his voice.. His flow gets slightly more confident, his tone becomes more pronounced with each verse to match the content.

Almost every track is eargasm, poignant, thrilling, hilarious...

This is a musical adventure of madness. Amazing. He definitely recaptured the 'live comedy / drama, play' feel of MMLP. None of his other albums have it but MMLP and this.

Also, with things like "Headlights"... it feels like his emotional highpoints here really hit between the eyes. I know he's done like... "Hailie's Song" - but his emotional attempts have always felt limited by the ceiling of rap and never quite elevated like he attempted... always kind of corny...

Where as here, the atmosphere of the songs tottttally melt with the themes every single time, "Headlights" truly sounds sentimental and emotionally authentic musically as well as his words - his performance is also so well balanced and done. This album is incredible.

This is CLEARLY better than Relapse and Recovery....but I still think it doesn't match the first three.

It's something everyone eventually has to come to grips with. He's 41, most rappers stop at that age. I mean, Jay's 43 and Tech seems like he's still got another 11 in him, Ice-T still drops albums (Along with all the other cats from that gen), but when you get to that age you tend to 'retire' without really going out and saying it. We all knew it was coming, to be honest, we all knew eventually he was gonna leave sooner or later.
