I don't think he's afraid. Think about it. At Em's level of fame you would have so many ppl looking up to you wanting to spread their music with your help. And as a pioneer of hip-hop, I'm sure Em, in his mindset, would love any opportunity to help boost hip-hop further. Whether or not that involves beats from new producers or hooks from new writers, he is expanding the envelop of hip-hop.

When I get over my lust for sole-Eminem produced music I develop a respect for what he does for the industry.

Yet he only had one verse on his album that wasn't his own.

He did a huge amount of the hooks on Relapse. And that changed with Relapse. For some reason, he has a boner for these poppy hooks when he is indeed one of the best hook guys out.

Legacy reminds me a whole lot of Going Through Changes. I really like Legacy but I don't like it as much as some people on here.
