Most of the weed smoking 16 year olds i know listen to Drake and lil Wayne to be honest, but i know what you meant by that people reach 6th form and suddenly we are all supposed to try whatever to make us seem cool in my school there are year 10's doing it too.

^^ I just can't with British teenagers - but I think they aren't too different from German teenagers. So maybe it's just me getting old. But then again I have never cared for weed at all and don't get why smoking weed is considered "cool". I remember when I was in 8th grade in grammar school (!!!!) and class mates started smoking weed thinking they were oh so cool. And that was 13 years ago or so.

I never cared about weed neither. I mean It's ok to try and even do it from time to time in a crazy night. But I never understood the point of smoking every day or do it because It's cool. When I was in college there was a few people who were always smoking, they were everything but cool.

But I think if you are very strict with your children, they will want to try it badly. The forbidden is always attractive.

There are some kinds of music where you can tell if someone listens to it, they wear certain clothes or have certain hairstyles.. i dont think hip hop fits into that category as much though. Of course for all types of music there will be people who are fans that you didnt expect to be, but some types of music are like that more than others. Rap is something i think anyone can get into really, I suppose some rappers listen to classical music though

Which is why a bunch of teenagers drink here in the states (the drinking age is 21). They aren't allowed to drink, so they want to do it that much more to kick authority.
