SSLP > TES imo.

SSLP > TES, artistically.

But rap-wise, song-wise and musically; TES > SSLP.

Which is why they're hard to compare... they have entirely different vibes and aims.

SSLP is almost entirely in-character, like Relapse. Where as TES is much more real-world.

Only song I legitimately can't stand on here is Asshole. The verses aren't the problem at all. It's that FUCKING HOOK. Jesus. Skylar ruined that shit for me. Not to mention the beat is trash compliments of Alex da Twat. Coulda been a badass song if the beat actually had some passable drums and a better written chorus. Oh well.

Not complaining though. The rest is stellar.

Beautiful Pain is now one of my favorite songs. It just rings so true.

I just don't get the overwhelming love (on SL especially) for this song.

It's not even the best bonus song, let alone touching any of the main album tracks.

People are so blinded by anything emotional, "HE SAID SOMETHING WHICH IS EMOTIONALLY RELATABLE... AND I FEEL IT... OMG - BEST SONG HE'S EVER MADE". Song is nothing special yo.

I'm amazed at how the female hooks worked on this album. I think it was one of the TR members' fears, but they turned out to be great. Polina, Sarah Jaffe, Rihanna (imo), Sia and Liz made a good job.

Skylar's hook was kind of meh.

Asshole is amazing. Em rides that (somewhat shitty) beat so fucking well. Skylar's hook is icky on first listen but it grows on you. At least it grew on me.

I replaced Asshole with Groundhog Day..

The only song I replaced.

I did the same. And I replaced Survival with Baby. But that's it. Everything else fits so well to me. Even Survival fit great with the flow of the album, I'm just not too enthusiastic about that song.

Yeah, those are actually good because they fit the features styles. They have heavy vocals and it just sounds good over heavy beats like that meanwhile someone like Skylar is always unfortunately the victim of his shitty fucking beats because her vocals aren't meant for them.

Is it just me or did Jamie N Commons just NOT fit on Desperation? Like with that content/idea, I just felt like, his voice seemed not right for it. *shrug*
