Not really?
People say that, but he did none of the production...
Normally, with everything other than Relapse... he's very involved in the sound process and obsesses, and even then it'd take him like a year?
Recovery took about 7 months give or take and he didn't do any of the beats, didn't exec it or oversea it in that way; didn't write or perform on many of the hooks...
So really, on his part - it was 7 months, to write some verses and lay 'em.
I'd say that's a pretty long-ass time, not rushed. I think it feels rushed or sounds it because of the fact it has no direction and he's trying to do this the one minute, something entirely different the next, and he's kind of manic and putting so much effort in to trying to sound energized and trying to comply to trends whilst still apparently not giving a fuck and all these things... so it's just like RARRRK DHHJFDJFDJKFDKJFDKHFKDHFJKDHFJKHDKFDKKFH "hmm, interesting album".
But he said he laid down a hundred tracks.
Many rappers make albums in weeks... shit took over half a year fam. Prolly longer actually, as I remember Porter saying in December 2009 that it was in closing stages, then them saying the final hour in like Feb I think of 2010... he recorded like a motha F and tried his hardest.
