Thinking back to The Monster... wasn't Em's old songs like The Real Slim Shady and Stan hated on back when they were released? I'm pretty sure Stan was, I don't remember where I read it though, but I did hear they hated on Stan for a while. Guilty Conscience was too, for obvious reason... (The song Guilty Conscience has gotten such rotten responses..") If that's the case, it makes you think...

I get the issue with Stan, but why how Guilty Conscience would have been hated?

Robbing and shooting an old lady, underage rape at a party, killing your cheating wife and the dude she was caught with... A lot of people didn't fuck with that, apparently.

Well, it's Eminem. It's his job to have songs like that.
He had already put out Just The Two Of Us in '97 so no big deal for real fans who had the Shady EP.

Well, one could argue that The Monster is controversial too, just in a way you didn't expect. The fact that he named a track "The Monster" and has it sounding like this is controversial in itself with. I don't get it. When Rap God dropped, people went "I hope Eminem gives us an emotional track on MMLP2!" and he gives you one.. but now, nobody's satisfied. The beat is great, the verses are very sharp, and the hook is great. No, it's not a perfect song, I hate the "Ohh, oh Ohhh" part in the hook and yeah, it could've been darker. A lot darker. But everyone wanted an emotional song, and got one. The song's made to get a buzz, Berzerk and Rap God were more of the core fans (debatable with your opinion, but whatever) and this song will be the song that gets charted quickly. I get you might not like it, you're free not to like it. I'm just being optimistic, because there's no fuckin way Eminem made an album of songs like "The Monster" when Survival, Rap God, and Berzerk don't even sound the same. There's still about an album left of songs we haven't heard. 16 tracks. (We're counting Deluxe.) There's still a lot of hope for this album.

Unfortunately not every eminem fan is on that level of thinking... only those who truly understand him and the music industry.

This album is going to amaze guys. Trust me. Have faith in the white boy. He, Rick Rubin, and Dre knew what was at stake when they named it MMLP2.

And take survival a little more seriously too...

"I WANT you to doubt me, I DON"T WANT you to believe. 'Cause this is something that I must use to succeed. And if you don't like it then FUCK YOU." Then he releases something that initially sounds lame a week before the album drops, but will instantly be a classic once people find out how amazing MMLP2 is.

Think about it. The consensus of a song like monster will change when it is one song off a classic album, instead of a sob song released in the middle of a wait for much harder stuff.
