Wasn't around here for the Calm Down verse and Guts Over Fear......what was the verdict on those around here???

Other places were killing him on those, more so Calm Down. My only problem with Calm Down is it sounds like Em sometimes tries to fit so many damn words and syllables and complex structure's into his rhymes that it sometimes sounds like he forgot how to structure his rhymes without it sounding like a cluster fuck. I still thought there was some dope shit on that verse though. And Guts Over Fear.....that 2nd verse is ill. No doubt about it.

Marshall was dope on Calm Down & Busta too, but the beat was pathetic. That's ruined everything.

Agree with the beat. I remember Scoop hyping the fuck outta the beat, and when I heard it.....I was literally baffled. I was like WTF is this shit???

I honestly wish Em would just work with these guys on whatever his next album is......

Em himself (Baby.....need I say more?)
Cardiak (Groundhog Day......c'mon man)
Sid Roams (brings out classic Slim it seems with Evil Twin and The Reunion)

And if he goes outta that for anyone.....maybe Jeff Bass (the real creators of that early Em sound, not Dre) or finalllllly a DJ Premier beat.

I'm sick of hearing DJ Khalil, Alex da Kid, and guys like that.

I'm tired of still hearing the "New Em sucks" haters everywhere. Seriously MMLP2 was the best thing he's done in over a decade, I didn't hate his albums in between but they weren't as good IMO, and he still caught shit. These guys on a boxing forum I visit were like "Man I'm done with Em, he's terrible now". Im thinking damn.....Bad Guy, Groundhog Day, Evil Twin, Brainless, Love Game 3rd verse, Baby, Rap God, Legacy, etc......this isn't the Em you've been wanting??? Not a classic by any stretch but MMLP2 was dope as fuck.

I just want Em to get his proper respect still in 2014. No one really shit on him for HTS....not that I really saw anyways. I just hope he's going HAM on Shady XV.

I agree with alot of what you've said, but that is very debatable.

Over a decade goes back to pre-2004. Hell, I prefer a few songs off of Relapse to most of MMLP2.

Over a decade goes back to pre-2004. Hell, I prefer a few songs off of Relapse to most of MMLP2.

I'm never getting into a Relapse debate on here like I did last year several times. I like it, but MMLP2 is far superior IMO. But there was some great shit on Relapse too no doubt. And there were missteps on both albums as well. But I really feel like out of the 21 songs we got from MMLP2.....only really like 3 of them were meh or worse. That's 18/21 that were dope IMO. I don't know If I can say the same % of songs on Relapse were all dope.

But I'd say it was hands down his best material since Eminem Show/8 Mile. It wasn't better than those.

Out of the 21, Bad Guy's last verse, Rap God, Brainless, Baby and Evil Twin stand out to me, the others are from bad - average. I'm not trying to cause an argument, but Encore aside from the stupid pilled out songs had some 8/10+ songs on there, like LYM, WAA, Evil Deeds, apart from the first verse etc.

MMLP2's a decent album but I don't think it's his best work in the past decade, not even in the past half decade, when we've got songs such as GTC which blow most of the songs out of the water.

I'm not sure when Refill came out, but My Darling and Music Box ( I think that was it, that or Buffalo Bill ) we fucking great songs and I still listen to them regularly.

I'm looking forward to the Lose Yourself demo that's about it. If I had to pick 16 songs for a Shady Records hit thing or fan favorite favorites, taking into account using stuff from a wide variety of albums......

Refill had some gems for sure. Anyone who was around here when I joined last year knows I'm the biggest fan of the accent rapping thing. I dug it on 3am, Stay Wide Awake, and others. I liked stuff on Relapse that most on here hated hahaha I thought Beautiful, Underground were dope IMO. So it's a matter of taste....

Bad Guy, Rhyme or Reason, Groundhog Day, Legacy, Rap God, Asshole verses, Brainless, Love Game 3rd verse, Headlights, Evil Twin, Baby, Wicked Ways, Beautiful Pain.....I thought they were all dope. Even stuff like So Far..., So Much Better (aside from a few corny lines), were dope IMO.

But hey it's all opinions homie. I love Em, as long as it's not Ass Like That/My First Single/Fack/We mADE yOU/The Monster type shit....I'll bump the fuck out of it.

Nobody is "feeling" the second disc... HOWEVER its a shady records comp not em. N it does its job promoting. SO Ohwell
