I'm wondering if the people who say this is boring listen to listen to old school hip hop. Not that this is a classic song or anything, but there are also people that say illmatic and Reasonable Doubt are boring. Just curious.

I mean I'm not a huge fan of that 90's New York grit sound. It's probably in part because I didnt grow up on it, but I see the boring aspect for people. It's not bad by any means but I could see why people wouldnt necessarily like it. I think its probably because they don't listen to much old-school hip-hop like you said, so their production tastes are just different.

I'm not trying to criticize, but if you think those two albums I mentioned and albums like it are boring then it would make sense why this "type" of song would bore you. I'm not comparing this song to a single song on those albums though lol

Oh haha neither album nor this song bore me. Lyrics more than make up for any personal shortcomings the albums have for me. I really enjoy the vibe and the beat of this song, it's actually parts of the verses that I find underwhelming. This is still a good song.

Those albums had some substance to them as well as the production; they had interestig flows and lyrics. The verses here were just fucking bland.

And because it's Premier who produced this, the Internet is going to say "omg this is real hip hop". Premier is the only reason I'm still listening to the song. I love this sound so much but I'd rather see that beat on A Better Tomorrow than on this song.
But hey, I'm some loser on the Internet so what do I know.

"Devil's Night" is 4:19. Had the 5 alive members on it and a 30 second intro.
"Fight Music" is 4:19. Had all 6 on it and a 30 second intro.
"U R The One" is 4:20. Had 5 members.
"Get My Gun" was 4:35 with an intro and interlude. All 6 members.
"Keep Talking" was 4:29 with 5 members on verses and an interlude.

Time doesn't determine anything. Because there are songs with 3/4 members longer than this song as well.
