I'd like to hear why y'all think it isn't.

Its not timeless. It doesn't cover a broad experience like the eminem show did, it doesn't shake things up like MMLP did, its not as good as SSLP, its not as well put together as relapse was. Its good, but come on man.

as a hardcore em fan for 14 years i truly believe it may be his best album. i always believed his best was tes, followed by the mmlp. this album is just great because almost every line is a metaphor, wordplay, etc. i understand why people might not see it, but this could be his greatest achievement. i will say, i include the bonus tracks when i say that, even including don't front.

i guess we can all agree to disagree. im still not sure where i place mmlp2 but i know saying its better than the first would spark a lot of hate. what gets me is simply this, he had 15 songs on the album, and how many verses? compare that to how many actual verses he had on the original. with all the features and skits, not even close to as many on the mmlp2.

I don't think anything comes close to his first 3 and i hate comparing them but i don't agree at all about mmlp2 being his best, i think its a little above relapse but we all have different opinions, we wont always agree.

and i understand, i always thought his first 3 were his best. i think the problem is, we are comparing something from 15, 14, and 12 years ago to something now. im sure if mmlp2 dropped in 99, 00, or 02 when his first 3 did we'd say it was his best, or a classic. just my opinion, but i think im pretty close on that one.

Theres no way something like mmlp2 could've existed back then, his careers been a story and to put something like this out..nobody would have felt it.

nah, i feel like seeing Eminem develop through Encore to Relapse to Recovery makes the MMLP2 have more significance.

i was simply saying it would be looked at higher than it is now. its all subjective anyway. we will forever agree to disagree on this forum when it comes to em and his albums/songs :sweating:

You seriously think The MMLP2 doesn't cover a broad experience?
Are you serious? MMLP2 probably covers a wider range of topics than any other Eminem album.
It's also his best material from a writer's POV
Bad Guy, Rap God and So Far are some of the best songs he's ever done, showcasing technical skill, introspection, mature wit and sheer eloquence he didn't have during his MMLP days.
Also, my fav album = the album I think is best = MMLP2.

bruh, i write too and I think that the mmlp is much harder to write than mmlp2. The MMLP is what made Eminem who he is today and how he is seen today. That album launched him into a whole other stratosphere. The writing and execution of 'Kim' is far ahead of anything off of MMLP2.

I agree with you from the technical standpoint but as far as song writing goes..MMLP wins as his best album, his Magnum Opus.

to me is it is a cinematic, schizophrenic, very real horror show - it is a very fucked up example of psychosis.

i would say that depends. the album can and be cohesive if done the right way. again, agree to disagree lol
