What I meant was... afraid to stick to his guns with an overriding sound and direction, after Relapse. I think he's convinced after Relapse that all his albums need to be very 'balanced' aka have 'this kind of song, that kind of song; this kind of sound, that kind of sound' - he's basically trying to please all of his fan-base, all the time.

Maybe you think that because you can't look at the album in his whole yet. It's still new. TES has Soldier vs Business, COMC vs Square Dance, TIill I collapse vs MDGC... They don't have the same vibe at all, but now we recognize them as tracks of the same lp. Apart from a few tracks (The Monster, BP, Survival, WW) I'm sure in future we r going to listen to this and say: "That was from MMLP2. That was the vibe."

They are Eminem hooks and concepts, they are Eminem songs and sound like full-blown Eminem songs start to finish, and fit the albums totally.

I'm with you
Berzerk = My Name is, TRSS, Without Me
The Monster = Nothing of early 2000... It's a better version of LTWYL. It's an anonymous song.
I think Berzerk is my fav Em 1st single with Without me... also TRSS was great, I can't really choose one of this tbh

Personally, I thought it fit quite well between STIW and So Far and you can't say that the production of The Monstr sticks out because there's hardly a uniform sound on the album for it to stick out from.

Even though I wish it wasn't on there, the song definitely fits nicely between STIW and So Far.

''Love Game'' fits well after ''So Far'' to, probably because those are produced by the same person.
Fuck top five, bitch, I'm top four
And that includes Biggie and Pac, whore
And I got an Evil Twin
So who the fuck do you think that third and that fourth spot's for?

What do y'all think is the best verse on the album? Mine would be Bad Guy last verse.

as a stand alone track, the monster is dope. I can really dig it. Same with STIW.

Was listening to RoR and I think that if mmlp2's sound was consistent with that type of sound (RoR, Berzerk, So Far..) it would of been a classic. Of course, songs like Brainless and Groundhog Day could fit too sound wise as well. To me, Brainless really exhibits that vintage MMLP aggression and sound, especially in the first verse and the last few bars of the 3rd verse where he says "I provoke queers to their emotions evoke tears, my whole...".

Everyone is too happy to b angry.
People are making money, there's no reason to pop off and roll on kids.

Rap is so diluted now.

As cliche as it is, money doesn't buy happiness. People with money, people making money...that isn't an exemption from basic human emotion and personal taste. If someone hates something, they don't say anything anymore. When asked about blatantly WHACK rappers, people stay quiet which only acts as a stamp of approval for future waves of shit to make its way through into the rap game.

Most wack-ass rappers let the fans do their work.
They don't need to defend themselves.

that control verse was not even close to a diss track tbh and the TDE cypher was like hiding behind a wall and calling names with the apparent drake diss

The Warning was the closest thing to a classic modern diss track.
