Meh. He had a huge comeback that year. Recovery put him back on top, and had one of the best reactions since MMLP1. Now that we've got MMLP2, of course Recovery and 2010 may look bad. But at the time. We all were like "EMS BACK! OMG BEST ALBUM! ONE OF HIS BESTS! EM IS AMAZING ONCE AGAIN" So yeah, don't go bashin it just cus he is WAY better now.

2010 was a great year commercially for Em but as far as what the true Em fans wanted and needed, Recovery was lacking

I agree. Now we view it as this. But don;t you dare say we all weren't blown away by Recovery. Care to disagree? Read some of the posts in 2010 on this forum.

Singin' "Bagpipes from Baghdad" again
In my dad's drag draggin' a faggot in a Glad bag
Won't be the last time I make a dramatic entrance like that again
You thought I was lyin' when I said I think that I'm crossin' the line again
I've lost my mind, caution oh God I think I've just thought of another fucking line
Forgive me father, for I have sinned
But hip hop has left me brainwashed with a violent streak

he shined on some things on recovery imo, no loves verse, almost famous, on fire, untitled and songs like ltwyl, seduction, gtc, and youre never over were unique to his collection. it wasnt bad, but the attempts at wordplay and metaphors was what was popular at the time and the album was very much commercial. not a bad album by any means, but compared to the mmlp2 its a joke.

I like the album, but some of the flows are choppy, which bothers me.

I know it's been said a thousand times but Em's flow on the 2nd verse of Love Game particularly at the part:

"Directly aiming a gat at my head
Woke up again and jumped up like fuck it
I've had it, I'm checking into rehab
I confess I'm a static addict, I guess that's why I'm so clingy
Every girl I've ever had either says I got too much baggage
Or I'm too fucking dramatic
Man what the fuck is the matter, I'm just a fucking romantic
I fucking love you, you fucking bitch"

is so insane :worship:

That Stronger Than I Was verse has grown on me a lot. Love his voice and flow on that song.

So far.. Has gotten a little worse for me, I think its a good song, but it didnt really impress me on the first listen, I liked it but wasnt particularly excited about it. Still good, but bumped down a little..

Really enjoy the last verse of Stronger Than I was, i wish the other two verses were like that.
" Life can change your directions, even when you ain't planned it
All you can do it handle it, worst thing you can do is panic
Use it to your advantage, avoid insanity manage
To conquer, every obstacle, make impossible possible
Even when winning illogical, losing is still far from optional.." -T.I.

i love the second verse and particularly the part you quoted. i think this song is amazing...minus kendrick. i really wish this was a solo joint. i love both of ems verses a fucking lot and lamar is just blah. like em made wayne look like an amateur on no love, he did the same on this, but i at least liked waynes verse.

Agreed. Would have been better if he sang the chorus and rapped the verses.
