I remember when MMLP2 first dropped and only a few of us really stood up for Asshole. Most people just dismissed it because of ADK and Skylar. I thought Em's additional production really improved the beat though, it's one of my favorite songs on the album surprisingly.

I think people are way too critical of Em's music, though. It's very rare for an artist at his age with the pedigree he has to still be dropping material that belongs with his classic material. I mean yeah, there's some clunkers too...but I just tend to ignore the stuff I don't like and enjoy the stuff I do. MMLP2 had so many songs that I felt every Eminem fan got his money's worth, regardless of their preferences. We all disliked a few songs, but they were different songs. So it worked out.

Now, Shady XV is different. We're only getting 9 new Eminem tracks, so if we don't like a couple of them...but whatever. It's a side project. I don't expect it to be a classic. Just some dope material between solo albums.

I kind of dig the fast flow. My favorite rapper growing up in Chicago was Twista, so I'm kind of used to needing multiple listens to pick up every detail.

Desperation is a song about the feels he got over a girl in a humoristic way.

So Far is a track where he describes how he lives his life.

Love Game is a song where he talks about the wiles and problems he got on his relationship.

Personally........

I think Bad Guy, Rap God, Brainless, Groundhog Day, Evil Twin rank among Ems Top 50 songs ever. Just my opinion.

The only stuff that was a clunker to me in MMLP2 was Survival, Berzerk, The Monster, Stronger Than I Was. The other 17 songs we got were dope.

He said it was unexpected. And I'm sure we both know how people react here when something different from original expectations comes out. It needs time to get used to it. Like you said, it's an assumption, a feeling I have from this interview, just sayin. Didn't say it WILL be the case.
Plus I don't know why this assumption shocked you while everybody is trying to guess the day it will leak. It's just a bet, of course I have no idea what this song is about or what it sounds like.
