I'm really glad I heard a lot of his prime stuff before his newer stuff though for sure otherwise I might be like one of those girls who thinks his Recovery stuff is the best

still drastic hearing a few old ones and then recovery, it's like yeezus and college dropout drastic
i like recovery tho, gets me hyped

This may be true for a lot of girls. But, I got into Em last year 3-4 months before MMLP2 (didn't even know he existed until then). LY was my first song, the next two were NA and LTWYL. If it weren't for these more mature songs, I would not have gotten into Em at all. Getting into his music so late simply means I don't constantly compare "old Em" and "new Em" and become annoying to everybody :shifty: . So it's not necessary to listen to his old music first to fully appreciate his discography.

This is crazy to me. Maybe I'm just too old hahahahaha

But it's insane to me that there's younger kids out there that were just getting into Em around Relapse or Recovery. It's crazy to me. I'm getting old.....lol

Lol yeah everyone has a different story tbh. There's probably some people out there who've only gotten into Em around MMLP 2. I know it sounds crazy but there's probably some people out there...

For sure man. I just remember flipping on MTV in 99 when I was like 15 and hearing My Name Is, then seeing his interviews as his name was first getting known big time. He was getting known, but little did anyone know it was just the beginning. Then came MMLP which fucking took the world by storm. I don't think I'll ever see another thing like it. It was a different time, and it was like the perfect storm for Em.

I don't think we'll ever see another emcee enter the game with three albums straight off like SSLP/MMLP/TES. It was PERFECTION homie. I'm being a stan right now, but for real.

In terms of how I place his albums.....

Marshall Mathers LP - 10/10
Eminem Show - 10/10
Slim Shady LP - 10/10
Marshall Mathers LP 2 - 8/10.......could have been higher if not for a few mistakes on final tracklist
Recovery - 7.5/10.........could have been higher if not the blatant production issues, half the songs were weak production wise
Relapse - 7/10.............could have been higher if not for a couple terrible songs and over doing the accents IMO
Encore - 6/10.......could have been higher if not for 4 terrible songs

JUST MY OPINION. PLEASE DONT KILL ME ON HERE FOR NOT ADORING RELAPSE THE WAY 95% OF YOU GUYS ON HERE DO.

I don't know how one could place MMLP2 above his first three major albums......

The sheer fact that MMLP2 had songs like Berzerk, The Monster, Survival, Stronger Than I Was would place it below those albums. I seriously didn't hear a song on an official Em release that I didn't like until Encore.

True. Even 8 Mile soundtrack was crazy quality, full of classics like rabbit run or Love me.

He should have done an 8 Mile full length LP.....shit would have been a fucking classic.

Lose Yourself
8 Mile
Love Me
Rabbit Run
Rap Game
Stimulate

Imagine an album with another 7-8 more songs like this. Damn shit would have been dope.

*raises my hand* oh! oh! I know how!

The music appealed to them more on MMLP2 than on one of his first three. Music isn't universal. Not everyone likes the same stuff. I personally would agree with how you have the albums ranked, probably not how they're rated though. People would disagree with us for having Recovery above Relapse. It's the same shit.

Too good to be true???

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shady_XV#Track_listing

The producer list would be ideal, but probably fake. It's wiki after all.
