Not sure why I'm just now bringing this up, but I feel like it's pretty interesting.
So my little brother (20 years old) is a drummer and so he's never really been into rap, he's more about the musicality and instrumentation of music so he usually digs the classic rock/alternative/indie shit. So for awhile he would always give me shit for listening to Em, ya know the usual "Aw he hates his wife and loves Hailie, that's all he ever raps about.
Of course I, knowing how close-minded of an assessment that was, just didn't bother. But it started to bother me as he got older he was really getting into Kanye, and then he got a Drake poster, but he still dissed Em. So whatever, me and my bro got different musical tastes fair enough, shit happens.
Cue MMLP2. I remember buying the physical copy and bringing it home and my bro asked me if he could borrow the disc so he could burn it onto his laptop for a quick listen, so I let him.
I think it was probably two days later he made a status on Facebook along the lines of "the lyrics on MMLP2 are just incredible. Eminem and Kendrick are the new kings of Hip-Hop," or something very similar to that. This of course being after the release of Yeezus, GKMC, and MMLP2.
PREFACE: No I am not making this a fucking Kanye v. Em discussion, HOWEVER I just found it interesting that even someone who was so against Em and into Kanye--applying more to his preference for musicality I suppose--to have his favorite rapper change after listening to MMLP2.
I'm high as balls so I'm sure I rambled but thought I'd just share.
Bottom line: Rapping on MMLP2>>>>>>>>
