RapGenius says the former but I think his verse was already over and he just wanted to end it like that.

I thought he meant if it was a recently written verse and he hadn't perfected the delivery, if he got tongue tied or whatever he could just say that line and end it.

It was just the planned ending for the verse. Em didn't stumble and happen to save it with a rhyming conclusion, that was just the end of the song.

I'm definitely not suggesting he freestyled the verse lol
I'm not even a believer that he freestyled that last line, I think the verse was over and he just decided to write that line cuz he didn't know how to end it or something.
