damn, that is dope

Except that eminem backwards is not minime

SliK, the apparent newfound king of inglorious negative nuts

minime reversed, eminim

eminim, phonetically, is EM IN EM

coincidentally, Eminem's name is EMINEM, phonetically; EM IN EM

It seems to be the negative adjective people fall back on when they can't be bothered thinking of an adjective that actually applies. "This song sucks. It's...*thinks*...oh, fuck it, go with corny."

On a related note, I've noticed this language most pretentious critics use online. It doesn't make you sound smart enough if you call a song "boring," so go with bland, insipid, pedestrian, vapid or banal.

If you find a song cliched, call it hackneyed or trite. If you find a song cheesy, go with mawkish.

What is 'corny' about his modern word play? I swear people just use that word without knowing how or when to actually apply it.

"But I'm leaving on this jet plane
You ain't fly, you're an airhead
And I'm sick of pounding a square peg in a round hole, sorry another catchphrase
But your baggage ain't gonna fit in my storage overhead space
Cause it just ain't big enough to fit your damaged goods
Other words don't try to put your heart in a headcase"

That whole portion of "Wicked Ways".

Most people, when they say "corny," just mean "unkewl."

There's a lot of overlap in people just throwing around words like, "corny," "cheesy," "campy," "kitschy," and other words that not only don't actually mean the same thing, but that the vast majority of people who use them don't actually know the meaning of.
