Favorite Eminem flow on an album?

Postby Jaba » Oct 31st, '14, 21:07

I did most unique/complicated. Which is your guy's favorite flow on an Em album? And I know this has been done but I havent seen it been done for a while.

Added BME and Devils Night cus the flow on their is a bit different. Was also gnna put re up but that was too many choices and i figured no ones fav is re ups flow.

Singin' "Bagpipes from Baghdad" again
In my dad's drag draggin' a faggot in a Glad bag
Won't be the last time I make a dramatic entrance like that again
You thought I was lyin' when I said I think that I'm crossin' the line again
I've lost my mind, caution oh God I think I've just thought of another fucking line
Forgive me father, for I have sinned
But hip hop has left me brainwashed with a violent streak

Relapse has my favorite flow of all time, except for a few SSLP & his freestlyes from that era, other than that Wicked Ways from MMLP2 is my favorite song in terms of flow.

This is pretty tough but I think MMLP set the standard when it comes to flow.

Really? If you said lyricism/wordplay/wit then yes, I'd agree. Raw flow, though? TES no doubt. I love how he rides the beats on that shit.

I can't decide between MMLP and MMLP2. Both are amazing and just mind blowing. Em's 2 best albums imo. Right now I am thinking MMLP2 but Ill probs never decide until like 10 years from now (see how MMLP2 ages).

Hard to decide my absolute favorite.

The Slim Shady LP has the most natural flow of all. He's literally talking most of the time and it just comes off smooth as butter.

The Marshall Mathers LP is a total contrast, very rough and aggressive. It introduced the raw syllable pumping, vein popping flow that Em still harks to occasionally in different ways today. It is the definition of classic Em.

The Eminem Show had the most artsy flow. A more professional sounding one than he had ever before. This one was the most solid of all Eminem sounds and exemplified how confident and proud he had became. This was the first time in Em's career where he more often than not didn't sound like he was playing a type of character.

And The Marshal Mathers LP 2 is the album where he sounds like he wrote everything on coffee and redbull. Random jagged flows, smooth flows, stuff you've never heard before all in one track, sometimes in back to back lines. Doesn't always work, but it's a thing of beauty.

Listen to the way he rides that "Business" beat, particularly in the third verse.

Whew.
