Well, conceptually it works perfectly. Considering, as already said, his albums are paired - It works.

The Slim Shady LP + The Marshall Mathers LP
--
The Eminem Show + Encore
--
Relapse + Recovery

I love how he's created this logical, chronological thread through his titles / themes. He really has created one giant story of music.

But other than the fact it fits, conceptually... Just feels a little 'off', a little 'dull' to me. Dunno why. Considering it's supposedly so epic... I kind of was hoping he'd create a title that could only stand for that one album. You know like Illmatic can only stand for the Nas album. He's created a title fitting, original, to go with the groundbreaking material.

But it's a fuck-load better than Relapse 2.

Illmatic doesn't stand alone because Nas also made Stillmatic.

Yes it does. Stillmatic is a sequel of sorts, but that's not relevant, he still created an original title that can only truly refer to the original thing.

Illmatic absolutely stands by itself. That title didn't exist until Nas created it for that album and it can always be referred to. It's a thing all by itself.

Simple but effective as it works for the 'sequel' to Relapse.

I liked 'The Awakening' though.

Yeah only problem with that is they were calling it Relapse 2: The Awakening.. doesn't that mean the same thing as a smaller simple title like Recovery

I'm very happy with the decision to remove all that has to do with relapse from the title..

plus relapse 2??

what is this Tha Carter? Tha Carter II?

Thats just not like Em to have a title like Relapse 2.

this album is gonna deserve its own name.

I wouldnt want Relapse 2: The Awakening just The Awakening.

Recovery is good though.

But the only thing is, it's not as memorable as his other album names. Like if someone says to you in a few years 'Recovery' you'd be like 'What?' but if they said 'The Eminem Show' you'd be like 'Great album'. Might sound dumb but I know what I mean....
