I think the skits he includes give his albums a uniqueness.

I agree with Amadeo that the skits that relate to the next song are pretty important and work well.
I hate Ken Kaniff skits and Paul skits.
I do enjoy the Steve Berman ones - only becuase it's something a little bit different each time compared to the Paul ones.

I'd prefer an album without skits, I don't mind when they lead into tracks, but I hate random skits after a few listens

I don't really care, but the "Soap" skit was a great lead-in for As the World Turns on SSLP, emphasizing the references to that and "Days of Our Lives" in the chorus.
