Thats bullshit. If there good, I couldnt give two fucks. Talib Kweli is one mt favourite rappers but he didnt grow up in the slums.
It may help the rapper have more gritty content and if you like that then fair enough but it terms of ability, I honestly dont care if they recived as a kid, a yacht for Xmas or a fucking apple.
