Every song has its own melodic flow that always fits the beat perfectly. Try count all the different flow diagrams that is used in 22 two's and notice the immense breath control.

Fuck 22 twos canibus did 33 threes

I don't dislike jay at all, I like him but to me he's very overated when it comes to his place among the greatest rappers ever. People say he's the G.O.A.T. He's never amazed me lyrically, well reasonable doubt was a straight classic but after that he's always been VERY overhyped.

Tend to agree with this. He has released quite a few decent albums but that's very much what you would expect when he has released 11 so far.

The song Death of autotune still annoys me. Great topic to rap about, amazing unorthodox beat and then he just ruins it with careless flow and lyrics.

I think he should start writing his lyrics down and get the crazy flow back to his game. According to himself he is better than Biggie so he has something to prove before he eventually leaves.

Ive noticed that most people who post here don't like Jay-Z, me personally, I think he's great.

He has released some bad stuff, but any artist with his output is bound to make a few duds.
I also dont agree with people who say he is generic lyrically, Meet The Parents, 99 Problems, Beach Chair, Lyrical Exercise, Regrets, I Know - all amazing concepts.
I think a lot of Jiggas work goes over peoples heads, I can guarentee most people think "I Know" is about a chick, when its actually describing the addicts of a drug user and drug dealer.

Reasonable Doubt, In My Lifetime Vol 1, The Blueprint, The Black Album, American Gangster-he has one of the best discographies in hiphop.

BUT I can why people dont like him, I never used to either
Same sword they knight you they gon' good night you with
Sh.., Thats' only half if they like you
That ain't even the half what they might do
Don't believe me, ask Michael
See Martin, see Malcolm
You see Biggie, see Pac, see success and its outcome
See Jesus, see Judas; see Caesar, see Brutus
See success is like suicide
Suicide, it's a suicide
If you succeed, prepare to be crucified

I pretty much agree with what Killah said.

It's true that he's overrated but he still has a great discography.

I think Jay either makes a great track or a bad one. There's like 5-10 Jay Z tracks I play, but I never touch any of the others.

There's never been a track where I was like.. alright I guess that's cool.

RD and BA are both classic albums. He's in my Top 10, no doubt.
