Great albums ruined by terrible production

Damn, listening to AZ"s Doe Or Die for the first time in yonks and I remembered how awful the production is on the album. Lyrically, it's fire but I've never got bored of an album so much due to the production. Even Pete Rock's beats are average at best

But how can an Album even be considered great if the production is terrible ?

Unless of course you mean Albums that had potential to be great albums but were unfortunately ruined by shitty production.
