I don't know if Kez is saying what I'm thinking, but basically all of Dizzee Rascal's commercial music is fucking shit. He produced one of the greatest albums of all time with 'Boy In Da Corner' back in 2003, and he used to be good on freestyles too, but ever since he went mainstream it's been pathetic.

This is the only recent thing from Dizzee I like, and it's not even music.

Interviewer: Dizzee Rascal, do you believe in political parties in Britain?
Dizzee: Yeah they exist, I believe in them.

And saying "innit" repeatedly on mainstream television, on a programme like 'Newsnight' deserves props too.

It just annoys me how the only songs people have been rating from the UK in this thread are fucking garbage. Bonkers is the worst fuckin song i've heard from Dizzee Rascal, probably the most annoying song of 2009. And Tinie Tempah is a fucking commercial pussy, with his well-crafted lines about not visiting scunthorpe and leaving clothes at his aunt's house. Give me a fucking break!

And yet in the same thread, people act like Possessed and Rhyme Asylum "need to expand their horizons"? You fucking kidding, these people you lot are rating haven't done that shit! "Frisky" and "Pass Out" are pretty much the exact same song, but that's okay cause it's popular? Fuckin stupid.

(I aint calling you yourself stupid btw, just this shit is retarded)

This is a good point too. Boy In Da Corner pretty much influenced UK hip hop when it came out for ages, now you've got him doing duets with fuckin Florence and the Machine on the Brit Awards and repeating these same 4 lines in Bonkers to one of the most annoying beats since Not Afraid's.

I posted that song because I like it, not because it's necessarily amazing or something.

I tend to listen to everyone & everything...
I'm not gonna avoid a whole (sub)genre of music just because the majority of people on here dislike it.

It's good party music. That's it.

It was never anything personal at all (not sure how being a gentleman is ever a bad thing) so your reaction was a surprise to say the least.

I know your location says 'Denmark', but my reply stemmed from the fact that the average (ignorant) American thinks that;

a. Everyone knows the Queen in England
b. Everyone speaks like the Queen in England
c. Everyone likes/loves the Queen in England
d. Everyone is posh in England
e. Everyone drinks cups of tea in England

They also tend not to understand English people's accents, when they are speaking OUR language.

I don't know how the Queen speaks but I know there are different accents in England. People from London (cockneys?) are much easier to understand than people from the north. Sometimes I just don't know what they are saying which can be quite embarrassing :D

^You act as if Americans don't drink tea...

Fuck what people say, tea and crumpets >*

Now back to the matter at hand. Saying you can't stand the UK accents is like you immigrated from Africa to America, learned to speak English, and then start to claim that you can't stand their accents, while in fact you're speaking their language. I hate to break it to you all, but Americans speak English, and English is, surprise surprise, from England... Or as it's more commonly known as Great Britain. If you just don't understand the UK accents, then obviously something is wrong with your ability to understand English, because people in the UK know how to speak proper English, in contrary to a lot of Americans. And this is based on own experience, I've been to both countries. And there is quite the gap between those two countries... Even the UK slang is ''more'' proper English than the US slang.

It's pretty shallow how people from the UK can stand American accents but yet American's can't stand UK accents, some do though. It's all got to do with stereotyping, pride and war.

I like the UK accent more than the American one, prolly cause I'm from Sydney.

TBH i could say i don't like American artists with Southern Accents but that'd defeat the purpose of being open minded. For what it's worth, just one UK Hip-Hop single needs to be BIG in America for the scene to appreciate us more, although i imagine it'll be bubblegum pop fodder. The funny thing is, American rappers/DJs/Producers are already working with U.K. artists yet some US Hip-Hop fans don't want to embrace it. It's funny how the U.S. music industry controls what generally popular worldwide
